Lost Media: Club Penguin Wiki

Special thanks to u/Environmental_Pea369 on Reddit for the use of their images! The full directory is located here.

Developed by New Horizon Interactive, Club Penguin provided a safe and interactive platform for children to socialize, play games, and embark on exciting adventures. Club Penguin was released to the general public in late October of 2005 and expanded to an estimated 30 million user accounts when purchased by Disney in 2007.

Club Penguin implemented a robust chat filtering system, ensuring conversations remained appropriate and devoid of any harmful content.

As in other online games like Poptropica and Webkinz, players were greeted with the opportunity to create their own adorable penguin avatar in which they could choose their penguin's color, clothing, and accessories, allowing for personalization and self-expression.

Elite Penguin Force Missions

PSA Secret Missions were point and click games Secret Agents could play to earn medals, awards, and experience in helping other penguins. They were accessed in the HQ by clicking on the Mission Console.

After the HQ was destroyed in May 2010, the missions were moved to the VR Room, where Field-Ops served a similar purpose on a much smaller scale. Missions were moved to the "Fun Stuff" page in December 2012, though awards from completing the missions could no longer be received.

Missions returned in 2015 as EPF Training Missions, in which EPF Medals could be earned upon completion.

There were 11 secret missions with the codename "adventure":

1. Case of the Missing Puffles (2006)

Aunt Arctic has lost her green and purple puffles, and the player must search for them. This is also the only time the Tallest Mountain is ever shown, aside from the Festival of Flight 2009 in August 2009. The puffles are found at this location.

Club Penguin Aqua Grabber

A medal is available upon completion of the mission, and the player could obtain a letter from Aunt Arctic providing the player found the pictures of her puffles.

2. G's Secret Mission (2006)

Gary has invented a new sled for the player to test, but things quickly go downhill.

Club Penguin Sled Mission

The player ends up in the wilderness and must learn how to survive before eventually returning to the Sport Shop to talk to Gary and receive a letter and medal.

3. Case of the Missing Coins (2007)

Coins have dissapeared from the gift shop vault, and the player was tasked with investigating.

Club Penguin Aqua Grabber

A medal is obtained upon completion of the mission and a card from Dancing Penguin is obtainable if the player accepts Gary's extra mini-mission and restore power to the Night Club.

4. Avalanche Rescue (2007)

Gary opens the door to the gadget room, and the player obtains a life-preserver cannon. The player then collects various items around Club Penguin to save 4 penguins trapped on a cliff.

Club Penguin Drill

At the end of the mission, the penguin gets a medal with an inner tube on it and a self-destructing letter. You could obtain a bonus award by using a belt to fix the Ski Lift in the Village.

5. Secret Of The Fur (2007)

Gary analyses the white fur in the Gadget room and flags Hot Sauce, Hot Chocolate and Jet Pack Fuel for the player to collect. At the end, players find that the fur belongs to a polar bear. To complete the mission the player must find the true source of the fur carrier, and catch the crab. The player must then go to Gary and tell him of their discovery.

Club Penguin Fur Analysis

At the end of the mission, penguins get a medal with a magnifying glass and fur on it. The player can also obtain a pizza. Once the pizza is eaten, one could open and close the item, and more pizza appeared. This item could only be obtained if you delivered a pizza to an Ice Fishing penguin.

6. Questions For A Crab (2008)

In this mission, Gary attempts to "question the crab." The Crab Translator 3000 breaks and the crab escapes. The player followed him to the wilderness and the cave and are greeted with a locked door. The player looks around and finds the same black puffle from Mission 2.

Club Penguin Polar Bear

After unlocking the door through the pet flap, the player goes inside and the polar bear locks the player in a cage. With the puffle's help, the player escapes as well. Players find their way back to Club Penguin, and the bear tries to destroy the Ski Lodge with a woodchopper. The bear sinks, and Gary awards the player with a medal and the blueprints for an electromagnet (if they give him the blueprints for the electromagnet seen in Mission 3).

7. Clockwork Repairs (2008)

Repair the broken clock in the Snow Forts by finding its scattered parts. The target is at the dock being used by two Penguins from Team Blue (give them the life preserver in the HQ for an award at the end of the mission). Get the Electromagnet 2000, and solve the cage puzzle lock with the word "key" in the Tic-Tac-Toe Code. Use the magnet on the spring. Go to the Gadget Room a 3rd time and put the spring in the test chamber, pull the lever, and set it to Fire Mode.

Club Penguin Clockwork

Travel to the Beach, where two penguins are sun-bathing, and pick up the green bucket beside them to collect snow at the Forts. At the Pizza Parlor, collect the music to play piano for the yellow puffle at the Stage. Get a picture of the gear in the Town and give it and the snow bucket to the puffle at the Stage, who makes a snow gear to freeze in the HQ test chamber. Return to the clock and put everything where it should be.

8. Mysterious Tremors (2008)

The island begins experiencing several earthquakes with no known cause. A piece of the Map was found at the Town and the other one flies away to Plaza. The Helium Tank was found at the Gadget Room and The Nails were found in the Sport Shop. The Cream Soda and balloons were found at the lighthouse (the cream soda explodes if shaken too much).

Club Penguin Mysterious Tremors

The net was located at the Beach, and the Hammer was in the Gadget Room. A lantern was in the entrance tunnel of the Dock, but wasn't needed if you owned night vision goggles. Players could exit the tunnel same way they entered.

9. Operation: Spy & Seek (2008)

Help Gary find Herbert and see what he is up to. Build your own gadgets.

Club Penguin Welding

10. Waddle Squad (2008)

Prevent Herbert from stealing the Golden Puffle. Secret Agents help Rookie with the Giant Magnet in the Gift Shop, and Jet Pack Guy at The Beach. After setting the trap and being caught with the Giant Magnet, Herbert escapes, losing a packet of seeds.

Club Penguin Polar Bear

An Employee of the Month Trophy was awarded if the player collected the table, clothes, and balls located in the Gift Shop.

11. The Veggie Villain (2010)

Herbert steals PSA's intel and destroys the HQ. Gary informs you of several missing items from the Gift Shop, and two piles of corn seeds are left behind. Gary calls, but the signal is lost and the Spy Phone's teleporter stops working. Herbert hacks into the PSA computers with the computer he stole from the Gift Shop Manager's office while Gary shuts down all the technology. Herbert attempts to broadcast over Club Penguin and blow the PSA's cover.

Players must stop the video feed by retrieving Night of the Living Sled from under the Lightouse piano before solving a puzzle to track the signal and shut off the audio source, as well as searching a corn maze and using wood to cross the river.

Club Penguin Polar Bear

The corn seeds are placed in the torch to lower the ladder and unplug Herbert's computer. Herbert warps the player and a popcorn bomb to the HQ and locks it down. The orange book under the map solves the puzzle, as Dot pops from the closet and teleports everyone outside. Popcorn shoots over the Ski Village and G gets a call from the Director announcing the closure of the PSA.

Bonus: Pick up the can next to the ship wheel, and go to the Gadget Room. Put the can in the Test Chamber, clicking water and then ice. If the ice was taken to Rory at the beacon, he would give the player a lens to fix Dancing Penguin's glasses at the Ski Hill.

Clicking the red button awarded free Spy Goggles.

Why did Club Penguin Shut Down?

Like other browser-based games such as Babydow, Club Penguin relied on Adobe Flash to run games and animations. Flash reached end-of-life status in 2017, spelling the end for online games that had not yet ported to mobile.

Club Penguin has since been recreated and rebuilt by independent developers like New Club Penguin, Club Penguin Legacy and Club Penguin Rewritten, but it's important to note these sites are not officially licensed.
