“Hey little buddies, are you ready to play?”

Newton: Play with Colors (1999)

If you grew up in Florida, there is a chance (albeit small) that this Barney and Friends dupe is buried somewhere deep in your subconscious.

Created and produced by Max Beck, Scott Clements, and Jennifer Hand, Newton: Play with Colors is 35 minute VHS tape from 1999 containing songs, videos, and edu-tainment suitable for toddlers and small children.

Newton: Play with Colors

Newton is a dinosaur (?) with undefined lore. The costume was designed by BJ Guyer

The content is extremely sensory in nature, with stimulating color from balloons and other various 90s coded items like beanbag chairs and inflatable toys.

The bulk of the non-green screen backgrounds were filmed in Orange County, Florida.
