OG Loc: How to Catch Freddy in GTA: San Andreas

CJ's old friend Jeffery is fresh off the yard. But he ain't Jeffery no more, he's "OG Loc." To hear Big Smoke tell it, Loc caught as many charges as he could for the sole sake of advancing his street cred. His first order of business as a free man is to shake down some dude named Freddy who dissed him and stole his rhymes.

This San Andreas mission chronicles CJ and Big Smoke picking Loc up from the yard and avenging his stolen masculinity.

After leaving the prison, you’ll drive Freddy’s house in East Los Santos. It's Vagos territory, but Loc doesn't care. He's a real gangster now.

When confronted by Loc, Freddy flees through the back door and escapes on a bike. You as CJ must chase him down on a motorcycle.

Note: Be sure to start this mission with a gun equipped, as the chase ends in a shootout.

"Chase Me, Chase Me"

There are several methods to completing this mission, including knocking Freddy down, shooting him off his bike, or shooting his bike until it explodes. However, it can be difficult to steer and shoot as CJ, especially since this chase takes place early on in the story–before most users max their driving and shooting skills.

The most foolproof method is to simply follow Freddy along his entire route, which looks like this:

If you've played this mission as many times as I have, then you probably have it memorized, with A representing Freddy's house and B representing the end of the chase.

In this mission, Freddy cuts through 9 alleyways, 2 train intersections, and a skatepark, so the best tip for staying on your bike and avoiding losing Freddy is to take it slow. The three initial alleyways are the most technically difficult to manuever, and should not be approached with much acceleration or speed.

Every so often, Freddy will even slow down to taunt you until you catch up. Although there is no auto-save feature in this game, you can almost think of these dialogue markers as checkpoints.

Heading west, Freddy will make a sudden stop and turn right up a narrow slat between a white building and the overpass. Follow him up the far road up and downhill before transitioning onto the interstate.

Once on the freeway, Freddy will merge left into oncoming traffic. He will continue to the left, cutting through an open spot in the fence and maneuver through the greenspace. Take it slow through here and avoid hitting the support beams or else CJ will fly off the bike.

After exiting the greenspace, you'll turn right and cut through a skatepark on your left. This goes without saying, but don't attempt to drop in the bowl full speed or else you'll be launched into the air. It's better to avoid the bowls altogether, as they can be tricky to get out of. Move through the open fence and drop down onto the freeway.

Once again, Freddy insists on driving into oncoming traffic. Dodge the cars and merge left up the entrance ramp.

Freddy will drive through the parking lot of the Cluckin' Bell. There's no need to enter the parking lot, as it's easier to stay on the main road. After exiting, Freddy will turn one corner to the right and another to the left before following the dirt path between the row of houses. Avoid hitting the fences, as the bike will not damage them.

After turning left up the stairs and through the greenspace, follow the train tracks until Freddy stops on top of the concrete steps.

If Freddy makes it to point B, he will get off his bike and begin shooting at CJ and Jeffery (I mean, Loc). Three other Vagos will also try to shoot at you, but you only have to kill Freddy.

To finish the mission, drive Loc to the Burger Shot.
