TLDR: Is TiV Legit?

The short answer is, TiV was legit. Tiv allowed gamers to earn up to $1 USD for each hour spent playing certain titles. While this isn't a ton of money, it quickly added up for heavy gamers.

Why Did TiV Go Out of Business?

Tiv’s profitability relied on corporate partnerships with game developers to “drive player behavior in measurable and repeatable ways.” This means that publishers like EA and Activision pay for rewards with the incentive of user downloads and to beef their engagement stats. However, this model didn't last, as Tiv went out of business in Fall of 2023.

While the Apple Store allowed TiV Pro subscribers to refund their past subscriptions, any money still in the app at the time of closure is unfortunately lost.

Editing Note:

I personally had a TiV Pro account and had used the card to rack up and cash out quite a few rewards, and had between $10-20 worth of points accumulated that were lost at the time of closure. The pot change still stored on the TiV Pro Card was refunded to me.

So I have found no information about any future refund structure (or potential class action suits (?)). TiV did notify that its service was closing rather abruptly through email, so you likely missed this notice altogether if your inbox is full as there was no indication given within the app itself. This is of course a poor business practice, but I'm uncertain that any scamming actually took place as any money you paid in is to be refunded.
